An opening and introduction event was held for the international project titled “Invisible Threat Mycotoxins: A One Health Approach for Environmental Management of Aflatoxins,” with the participation of university students, personnel from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, and academics from the university.
The project, briefly called ONE-TOX, aims to reduce the biological and economic risks posed by aflatoxins at every stage of the food chain and is being carried out within the scope of the Erasmus+ Vocational Education and Training (VET) program.
At the event held in the institute's meeting hall, the project objectives, the duties of partner institutions, and the activities to be carried out during the project were shared with the participants. In the opening meeting, the importance of the One Health approach was emphasized, particularly drawing attention to the effects of mycotoxins on human health, animal health, and the environment. The opening meeting was completed interactively with questions and contributions from the participants, and information was given about the training activities, field applications, and international cooperation studies to be carried out during the project. The ONE-TOX project is expected to contribute to food safety by raising awareness in the fight against mycotoxins and to produce important outcomes in terms of sustainable environmental management.
